Kurt A. Kegel

Kurt A. Kegel is a shareholder who practices in the Domestic Relations and Family Law section. Kurt is experienced in all aspects of domestic relations and family law, and handles matters including divorce, child custody and visitation, child support, alimony, pre-nuptial agreements, paternity, legitimation, family violence, modifications, and appeals.

Kurt is the immediate past Chair of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia, and previously served in numerous other leadership positions in the Family Law Section of the State Bar. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a Barrister in the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law Inn of Court, and a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Mr. Kegel is a Charter Lifetime Fellow of the Atlanta Bar Foundation. In 2005 and 2006, Kurt was identified by other lawyers as one of Georgia’s “Rising Star” lawyers, and in 2007, he was selected as a “Super Lawyer.” Kurt lectures frequently at seminars on family law issues.

Kurt was born in Rockford, Illinois. He graduated with a B.A. from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia in 1988. He received his J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law in 1991.
